Daily Covet: Mandy Coon Ginny Bunny Bag

oc-mandy coon-ginny bunny bag

At risk of revealing myself as the rabbitine equivalent of a cat lady, I’m going to start off daily covets with the Mandy Coon Ginny Bunny Bag available at Opening Ceremony.  I’ve actually had my eye on this one for a while – it’s a perfect combination of wicked and whimsy.  The recent appearance in one of Tavi’s outfit posts only cemented its place on my lust list.  It almost seems to poke fun at the idea of childhood innocence, particularly slung at the side of the fashion prodigy.

My first instinct was to really play up that idea – I could see it paired with a short, girly dress (like this flower tunic from TopShop), ankle socks and knock-off Miu Miu platform mary janes.  However, if it found its way into my closet, my favorite way to wear it would be paired with some of my go-to casual, black-and-white basics.  Wouldn’t it add a fun, fanciful element to an outfit like this:

Of course, these are all hypothetical… With a $435 price tag, it won’t be coming home with me anytime soon.  *Sigh*

I quite like the bag, but not for that price.
Stores in Asia had ones like that years ago. I think it might have been three years ago, I almost bought one just like that, except it had backpack straps instead of the chain. I put it back on the shelf because $12 was over my budget back then. I also thought that I’d grow out if it. Shame I didn’t buy it.

adore the bag, love the floppy ears of the rabbit (i am a bit rabbit obsessed myself). etsy has a rabbit purse i have been stalking for months. i thought i’d share, so we can stalk our desires together. also, i think i’d name him emillio if he ever came to live with me…

Ooh, I’d not begun to think of names! I think I would call mine Henrietta, and I’d say, “Gregor, can you grab Hettie so we can go,” or “Don’t worry, Hettie can carry your comb and mirror when we go out.”
