Covetous Creatures is run by Holly Penikas and Greg Parker. Both writers by training, they were drawn to the world of fashion and beauty after spending time working in salons and spas on Boston’s high-end Newbury Street. The blog is a collection of outfits, diaries, and covets that are representative of their personal style and lifestyle.
The Covetous Creatures aesthetic is equal parts whimsy and grunge, and in a constant state of flux. “I would love to be a perfectly curated individual with iconic, recognizable style,” Holly says, “but I’m not ready for that kind of commitment. It takes experimentation to get there, and that’s where I am at this point.”
About Gregor:
Greg once referred to himself as “a child of the world” (and will never live it down). He grew up moving around the globe and across the US, acquiring an eclectic and individual style from a young age. He studied Writing, Literature and Publishing at Emerson College in Boston. These days Gregor remains in the salon industry, and is pursuing an interest in photography. His style is influenced by the post-apocalyptic world of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome and new Australian designers.
About Holly:
Holly is from Ohio by birth, but Boston by heart. After studying Marketing at Miami University, she transferred to Emerson College to complete her degree in Writing, Literature and Publishing. She worked in the salon industry for several years before taking a communications-based role in medical administration. In 2012, Holly also signed on as Brand Engagement Director of Boston-based fashion start-up Zoora – an online marketplace offering customizable and made-to-measure clothing from emerging designers. Through her work with Zoora and as a freelance writer, stylist and occasional model, she remains active in the local fashion and beauty scene. Her style is influenced by riot grrls, 90s grunge and Francesca Lia Block books.
